A system for dispensing draught beer into a receptacle via a beer dispensing valve under the pressure of carbon dioxide gases supplied from a source thereof includes a dispensing nozzle connected to the beer dispensing valve. Either the tip of the nozzle or a receptacle table is movable upwardly and downwardly whereby the relative position between the tip and the receptacle can be changed. When beer is being dispensed the nozzle tip is positioned within the receptacle. When dispensing is complete the tip of the nozzle is positioned upwardly of the upper edge of the receptacle. With this arrangement excessive foaming when draught beer is being dispensed can be prevented.
