A drawing device and process for the manufacture of drawn plastic filaments (2, 3) is disclosed which includes a spinning device (1) and a pneumatic pull-off device (10), whereby between the spinning device (1) and the pull-off device (10) a heating device (5) is positioned for heating the filaments (2, 3) to a temperature between their glass transition and their melting temperature. The device of the invention has a more compact construction and is suited for the manufacture of drawn plastic filaments with a titer above 1 dtex. Filaments of higher strength and reduced stretch are achieved.
