Drawing stock made of microalloyed steel having a carbon content of 0.2-0.6 wt % and comprising at least one alloying element selected from the group which consists of vanadium, molybdenum and chromium, in a proportion by weight of at least 0.05 % and at most 0.5 % of the alloying element(s). Such drawing stock is manufactured with a view to producing a ready-to-use metal wire by shaping and heat treatment, said wire being useful for reinforcing plastic or rubber articles, particularly pipes, belts, plies and tyre casings.
Ce fil-machine est en acier microallié avec une teneur en carbone comprise entre 0,2 % et 0,6 % en poids, et comportant, en outre, au moins un élément d'alliage choisi dans le groupe formé par le vanadium, le molybdène et le chrome, dans une proportion pondérale d'au moins 0.05 % et au plus 0,5 % dudit élément d'alliage ou de l'ensemble desdits éléments d'alliage. De tels fils-machine sont fabriqués pour réaliser, par déformation et traitement thermique, un fil métallique prêt à l'emploi utilisé, par exemple, pour renforcer des articles en matières plastiques ou en caoutchouc, notamment des tuyaux, des courroies, des nappes, des enveloppes de pneumatiques.
