An elongate plate having first and second sides is provided with the elongate plate having a pair of drawstring eyelets journalled through the plate so as to form corresponding first and second pairs of eyelet apertures on first and second sides of the elongate plate, the first and second pairs of eyelet apertures having corresponding first and second diameters. The pair of drawstring eyelets lie substantially on a longitudinal plane along the elongate plate extending between the first and second sides. Further, the pair of drawstring eyelets are sized to snugly receive the ends of the drawstring therethrough and are spaced apart a distance at least equal to the width of the knot formed of the drawstring ends. Thus the first side of the elongated plate provide a bearing surface between the eyelets for the knot formed of the drawstring ends, and a second side of the elongate plate provides a pressure distributing surface which is larger than the bearing surface between the eyelets, for transferring and evenly distributing against a waistband of an article of clothing containing the drawstring pressure applied to the bearing surface resultant of the knot formed of the drawstring ends.
