A b s t r a c t A dredger is presented which features a floating body 1. On this floating body 1 is situated a cross beam 3 on a structure, the cross beam being provided with a travelling arm 4 for a travelling crab 5. On the travelling crab 5 is arranged a lifting mechanism 6 for a grab 8, which can be raised and lowered via a rope 9. On one of the ends of the cross beam 3 is suspended a counter-weight, which is connected via a rope 10 with the grab 8 in a counter direction of motion to the raising and lowering action.
