ABSTRACT A dressing tool for grinding wheels is disclosed, with a diamond coat on a base body, the diamonds being held in a metallic bond in the coat. The diamond grains are artificially roughened to such an extent that their surface area is enlarged by a factor of at least two as compared with the natural surface, and the diamond grains are arranged at such a density that the majority of them are in direct contact with adjacent diamond grains.
