A wound dressing is provided comprising a backing layer, an apertured wound facing layer and an intermediate absorbent layer comprising fibres of material which upon contact with moisture will form a gel. The intermediate layer is also comprised of a non-gel forming component, e.g. another fibrous material which can support the formed gels. The backing layer is also characterised in that its water transmission rate is greater than its moisture vapour transmission rate.

La présente invention concerne un pansement comportant une couche arrière, une couche perforée faisant face à la plaie et une couche absorbante intermédiaire contenant des fibres de matière qui, après avoir été en contact avec de l'humidité, formeront un gel. La couche intermédiaire comporte également un composant non gélifiant, par exemple, une autre matière fibreuse, qui peut servir de support aux gels formés.
