DRIER CONTROL PROCESS FOR POWDERED MILK Abstract A process for monitoring the moisture content of powered milk and controlling drier heat input in accordance therewith comprising the steps of measuring powder moisture content in a selected number of samples in a region near the drier output wherein the powder moisture content exhibits wide spatial variation, identifying an apparent running average value over the selected number of sample moisture content measure- ments and treating the apparent running average value of sample moisture contents as an actual measurement of ultimate more evenly distributed material powder moisture content. -i-
