Screwholes must usually be pre-drilled. Power drills are used if the pre- drilling is to be performed mechanically. The screws themselves are usually screwed into place using power screwdrivers. There is now a new drill bit that is also intended to be used in conjunction with these conventional power screwdrivers. The drill bit (1) comprises a drilling section (4) and a shaft section (3) having an hexagonal cross section for connecting the bit in a torsionally rigid manner with a conventional power screwdriver. As a result, it is no longer necessary to use different power tools for the different operations of drilling holes and driving screws. The invention is intended for use by the home handyman and professional workman.
