ABSTRACT For use with a raise drill or other earth or rock drills, a seal assembly comprises a housing for the sealing engagement with the walls at the top of the shaft, a flexible, generally cylindrical seal for engagement with a drill rod and an inflatable bladder disposed between the housing and the seal and serving to press the seal into sealing engagement with the drill rod.
