ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a drill unit which permits drilling operation, when holes are to be drilled at high places of buildings, without requiring a temporary scaffold or stepladder and by adopting a stable postures. This drill unit comprises the following: the drill unit proper 3 composed of rotary drive 1, which incorporates an electric motor, and gearbox 2 which incorporates the gear train connected to the output shaft of said electric motor; Chuck 5 for drill holding which is arranged at the front surface of said gearbox 2; long pipe shaft 6 which is hung down perpendicularly from the bottom surface of rotary drive 1 of the drill unit proper 3 and bent backwards obliquely in the middle; grip 7 provided at the bottom end of said shaft 6; and switch 8 which is arranged at said grip 7 and gives ON/OFF control to the electric motor of said rotary drive 1.
