A system is provided for automatically maintaining the drill steel on its proper path during drilling. The drill is mounted at the end of an extendable boom (64), the extension of which can be controlled hydraulically. The orientation of the drill steel with respect to the boom is also controlled hydraulically. The boom (64) can be elevated by a hydraulic system (102) to drive the drill steel into the strata above. The position of the drill is calculated by a controller (200) by means of several sensors (202, 204, 206). The controller (200) then controls the extension of the boom and boom angle as well as the orientation of the drill with respect ot the boom in order to maintain the drill steel in the proper position throughout the drilling process.
On décrit un système permettant de maintenir automatiquement la tige de fleuret sur sa trajectoire correcte pendant le forage. Le foret est monté à l'extrémité d'un mât étirable (64) dont l'extension peut être commandée par un dispositif hydraulique. L'orientation de la tige de fleuret par rapport au mât peut également être étirée par un dispositif hydraulique. Le mât (64) peut être relevé par un système hydraulique (102) pour conduire la tige de fleuret dans les couches supérieures. La position de la tige de fleuret est calculée par un dispositif (200) de commande associé à plusieurs capteurs (202, 204, 206). Le dispositif (200) de commande commande ensuite l'étirement du mât et l'angle du mât ainsi que l'orientation du foret par rapport au mât pour que la tige de fleuret se maintienne correctement positionnée pendant tout le processus de forage.
