A valve device is disclosed which is incorporated into the lower portion of a drip chamber for preventing the free flow of fluid through a tube assembly when the tube assembly is disengaged from a pump of a fluid administration system, while permitting fluid flow when the tube assembly is engaged around a rotor of the pump. The valve device comprises a valve body having a top component sealingly engaged with a bottom component. The top component is integrally formed with the lower portion of the drip chamber and defines a plurality of axial fluid passageways formed around a stationary plunger which seals against an opening formed at the upper portion of the bottom component. The opening is in communication with a lumen that extends into a hollow tube assembly which is attached to the bottom component of the valve body. The bottom component further includes a flex joint made of a flexible material that is adapted to flex and pull the opening away from the plunger to establish fluid flow through the valve device.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de soupape (12) incorporé dans la partie inférieure d'une chambre compte-gouttes afin d'empêcher l'écoulement libre d'un liquide à travers un ensemble tube (16) lorsque l'ensemble tube (16) est désolidarisé de la pompe (14) d'un système d'administration de liquide (10), tout en permettant l'écoulement libre lorsque l'ensemble tube (16) est mis en place autour du rotor (24) de la pompe (14). Le dispositif de soupape (12) de l'invention comprend un corps de soupape dont le composant supérieur (54) est placé en contact étanche avec un composant inférieur (56). Le composant supérieur (54) est formé solidaire avec la partie inférieure de la chambre compte-gouttes et définit une pluralité de passages de liquide axiaux formés autour d'un piston stationnaire qui forme un joint étanche contre une ouverture (82) formée dans la partie supérieure du composant inférieur (56). L'ouverture (82) est en communication avec une lumière (64) qui s'étend dans un ensemble tube creux (16) attaché au composant inférieur (56) du corps de soupape. Le composant inférieur (56) comprend en outre un connecteur flexible réalisé dans une matière flexible, qui est apte à se plier et à écarter l'ouverture du piston afin d'établir un écoulement de liquide à travers le dispositif de soupape (12).
