ABSTRACT: A floppy disc drive apparatus has a frame part carrying a multitude of components among which a bearing housing for a turntable bearing and a stationary member carrying a coaxial guide spindle for an axially movable disc clamping member which is lever operated by a hinged cover member which covers an entrance opening for the floppy discs. Both a fixing member for the bearing hous- ing and the stationary member of the coaxial guide member are integral parts of the frame, the turntable bearing being introduced and secured to the frame from the out- side. The frame may be a die cast.
