Main claim: A brake and clutch unit (2) for mounting on a main shaft (100) of a drive arrangement of a cableway, comprising - a drive section (50) which can be subjected to a drive torque, - a hub (30) which can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the main shaft (100), and - a base section (10) which can be fastened in a positionally fixed manner, wherein - a switchable clutch (40, 60) is provided between the drive section (50) and the hub (30), and - a switchable brake is provided between the base section (10) and the hub (30), characterized in that - the switchable clutch (40, 60) is designed as a friction clutch (40, 60).
