An opening and closing machine for architectural rolling door shutters is such that various parts of the machine are assembled into a cylindrical-shaped casing with a good work efficiency and without looseness. After a casing (6) is divided into upper and lower semi- cylindrical portions (9, 10) and various parts, such as an electric motor (12), of the machine are assembled into the lower semi-cylindrical portion (9), the upper semi-cylindrical portion (10) is slidingly fitted into and assembled to the lower semi-cylindrical portion and flange portions (9c, l0d) on the upper and lower semi- cylindrical portions (9, 10) in this state are clamped to each other and fixed in a state, in which the casing (6) is made small in diameter.
