ABSTRACT A gyrating cone-shaped head cooperates with a stationary bowl to crush rock. The gyrating action of the head is accomplished by a vertically off-set shaft arrangement for the head driven by a rotatable eccentric member. This is driven from a bevel gear via a flange set up on a stabilizing shaft and a coupler between the flange and the eccentric member. The coupler comprises a diametral groove in its bottom surface and a diametral groove in its top surface angled normal to the bottom surface groove. Spaced keys are releasably secured in the upper surface of the flange and slidably fit in the bottom surface groove of the coupler. Similarly, the top of the coupler is connected to the eccentric member by spaced lugs fastened on the latter which slidably fit in the top surface groove of the coupler. This provides precise gear fit adjustment between the gear and the eccentric, that is, by installing shims between continuous parts to permit radial and vertical adjustment.
