ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drive for actuating the back of a seat that can be adjusted into multiple positions has a multiple tension jack preferably composed of a worm drive and wheel, preferably crossed by a shaft and containing individual, independently acting, selectively controllable tensioning mechanisms, in particular by moving the shaft. All tensioning mechanisms are coupled on a switching shaft. The tension jack is spatially separated from the back adjustment arrangement and the tensioning mechanisms have Bowden cables.
