ABSTRACT A vertical edger sawmill machine that includes a motor driven, rotating drive shaft on which are mounted at least two saw blade assemblies. The shaft is splined, forming arcuate spline recesses therebetween, and each saw blade assembly includes a mounting hub having arcuate hub recesses on its inner surface that correspond with alternating spline recesses. Dowels are received within the hub recesses and spline recesses and secured therein by a pair of end collars. The spline recesses and hub recesses are radially, outwardly offset so as to cause the dowels to be driven radially outwardly and forwardly into the hub recesses in order to control planing of the saw blades.
