- 13 - "DRIVE LINE FOR TRUCK MOUNTED HOPPERS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Because of the drive line normally extending from a front mounted engine to the rear wheels of a truck, any hopper mounted thereon requires that the base be situated above the drive line thus making the truck relatively top-heavy and unstable particularly when load- ed. The present device offsets the drive line relative to the longitudinal center line of the chassis so that the hopper can then be lowered considerably whereby the base is below the chassis. An alternative embodiment shows the drive shaft extending through the body of the hopper rather than being offset to one side.
