INVENTOR: JAKOB HUBER INVENTION: DRIVE MECHANISM FOR FULLY AUTOMATIC OPENING AND CLOSING OF A SLIDING DOOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drive mechanism for full-automatic opening and closing of a sliding door comprises two drive mechanisms for supplying different moving speeds to the door. A main motor for the higher speed drives a worm-gear spindle, a low-power motor for the lower speed drives a profiled bar. A gear wheel moving on the worm-gear spindle and a pinion slidably mounted on the profiled bar mesh with each other and are contained in a sliding carriage guiding the sliding door via a latch. The selective or common drive of both motors results in various combinations and enables an adaptation to the requirements for variable door speeds. The drive mechanism is of simple design, relatively cheap and does not require trained service personnel. - 1 -
