ABSTRACT A drive shaft, suitable for use in a motor vehicle, comprising first and second universal joints and an intermediate shaft connecting the universal joints, wherein the intermediate shaft is made of a fibre reinforced plastics material and is integral with a part of one or both of the universal joints. The universal joints may be constant velocity joints utilising balls for torque transmission, tripod joints, or may be constituted by an outwardly extending fold integral with the intermediate shaft.
