The system includes input devices (104, 106, 108, 110, 112) for controlling the simulated vehicle, a video display (122) having three-dimensional graphics, modeling software (116) for determining position information based on the input devices, and recursive training software (120) to display a previous route through an environment simultaneously with a present route (134) through the environment. The user then incrementally and rec- ursively maximizes parameters associated with vehicle operation skill. The driver training system (100) may be embodied as an arcade game.
