ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a driving mirror for use on trucks and other vehicles. Prior art devices have often had a common failing: if the reflecting surface of the driving mirror is broken, a new one cannot be readily installed or the entire driving mirror may have to be replaced. The invention provides a driving mirror with a relatively resilient housing wherein the reflecting sur- face may be snapped into place in grooves defined by the housing. Once in place the reflecting surface is securely retained by using an internal clamping element to deflect the walls of the housing inwardly about the reflecting surface edges. The clamping element is deflected inwardly by a fastener assembly which includes a ball joint for mounting the mirror so that it swivels and tilts for adjustment.
