ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drop head assembly for use in combination with builders scaffolding to support shuttering, which comprises an upright pillar one end of which is adapted, directly or indirectly, to be attached to a scaffolding prop, and the other end of which is provided with a detachable head plate device. A shuttering support member is slidably mounted on the pillar, and a wedge is provided for retaining the shuttering support member in a raised or operative position where it can hold the shuttering in its position of use. The head plate device is provided with a centrally disposed flange plate which is positioned centrally on the upright pillar and is detachably connected to e.g. a bracket or other member fixed to, or forming part of, the pillar, which member is offset relative to the flange plate. This ensures correct positioning of the head plate on the pillar.
