A drop-in anchor comprises a tubular sleeve having a first end and an expandable second end. The sleeve has an internal taper narrowing in a direction from the first end to the second end at a sleeve taper angle. The drop-in anchor further comprises a plug insertable in the sleeve such that when the plug is driven into an installed position in the sleeve an external surface thereof engages said internal taper to expand the second end. The plug: i) is a cylindrical body having substantially zero taper; or ii) the external surface tapers at a plug taper angle that is different to said sleeve angle such that there is a difference between the sleeve taper angle and the plug taper angle of at least about one degree.
