ABSTRACT: 1. A dropout compensation device for the compen- sation of dropouts in a video signal, which signal con- sists of a colour television signal modulated on a car- rier wave, with a luminance component and a chrominance component. The video signal is applied to a first delay line, from whose output signal a luminance component delayed by one line period is derived with the aid of a demodulator. The video signal is also applies to a demodulator for supplying a demodulated colour tele- vision signal. The chrominance component of the de- modulated colour television signal is applied to a second delay line, which at its output supplies a chro- minance component which is delayed by one line period. The delayed chromnance and luminance components are added to each other and during a dropout they are applied to an input terminal as a substitute signal for the demodulated colour television signal.
