A drug delivery system is disclosed which may be a throwaway or reusable device for delivery at least one drug to a patient. Also described is a method for administering a drug using said device and a packaged drug for use with said device. The drug delivery device (10) comprises a housing (12), a means (14) for generating a force capable of pushing a drug (16) from a packaging (18) into a human or animal body, a means (20) for transmitting said force to push the drug (16) from the packaging (18) into the human and animal body, and a means (38, 42b) for triggering the device. Where the device is a single use drug delivery (10) a packaged drug (100) forms an integral part of the device. The packaged drug (100) comprises packaging (18) containing a drug (16), having a housing (18a, 18b) wit a channel (106) running there through and in which is disposed a drive pin or other element (108), a skin piercing means (110, 112), and the drug (16), said housing (18a, 18b) further comprising a region (102) allowing the packaged drug (100) to be slidably mounted to the drug delivery device (10) and an end (104) adapted to engage and tension the skin.
L'invention concerne un système d'administration de médicament pouvant consister en un dispositif jetable ou réutilisable destiné à administrer au moins un médicament à un patient. Le médicament emballé (100) comprend un emballage (18) contenant un médicament (16), comportant un boîtier (18a, 18b) équipé d'un canal (106) traversant le boîtier et dans lequel est disposée une tige d'entraînement ou un autre élément (108), des moyens de perçage de la peau (100; 112), et le médicament (16), ce boîtier (18a, 18b) comprenant, en outre, une zone (102) permettant au médicament emballé (100) d'être monté coulissant dans le dispositif d'administration de médicament (10) et une extrémité (104) conçue de manière à se mettre en prise avec la peau et à la tendre.
