The invention concerns a drug containing as its active constituent a substance which inhibits the action of TGF.beta. on tumour cells of epithelial origin for the treatment of epithelial, invasive tumours characterized by a reversible transition of the cells from an epithelial, non-invasive state to a fibroblastic, invasive state. The drug contains a TGF.beta. inhibitor, preferably in combination with a Ras inhibitor. The invention also concerns a method of screening substances for the treatment of epithelial, invasive tumours.

L'invention a pour objet un médicament renfermant comme constituant actif, une substance inhibant l'action du TGF.beta. sur des cellules tumorales d'origine épithéliale, pour le traitement de tumeurs invasives épithéliales caractérisées par une transition réversible des cellules d'un stade épithélial non invasif en un stade invasif fibroplastoïde. Le médicament renferme un inhibiteur de TGF.beta., de préférence en combinaison avec un inhibiteur de Ras. L'invention a également pour objet un procédé de sélection de substances pour le traitement de tumeurs épithéliales invasives.
