It is intended to provide a drug for preventing or treating the duplication of hypertension, which is a risk factor of adult diseases, with hyperuricemia and/or hypercholesterolemia. Namely, a drug for preventing or treating hypertension with hyperuricemia and/or hypercholesterolemia which contains, as the active ingredient, 2-propyl-3-{[2~-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl}- 5,6,7,8-tetrahydrocycloheptaimidazol-4(3H)-one, its prodrug or a salt (generic name: Pratosartan). It is also possible to combine Pratosartan with one or more diuretic agents selected from the group consisting of sulfonamide diuretic agents, phenoxyacetic acid diuretic agents and thiazide diuretic agents. It is also possible to combine Pratosartan with one or more lipid- lowering agents selected from the group consisting of statins, fibrates, cholesterol-adsorbers, cholesterol absorption inhibitors and cholesterol catabolism/excretion promoters.
L'invention se rapporte à un médicament permettant d'empêcher ou de traiter l'aggravation de l'hypertension, qui est un facteur de risque des maladies d'adultes, par une hyperuricémie et/ou une hypercholestérolémie. L'invention se rapporte notamment à un médicament permettant d'empêcher ou de traiter l'hypertension associée à une hyperuricémie et/ou hypercholestérolémie, ledit médicament contenant, en tant que principe actif, une 2-propyl-3-{[2'-(1H-tétrazol-5-yl)biphényl-4-yl]méthyl}-5,6,7,8-tétrahydrocyclohéptaimidazol-4(3H)-one, à son promédicament ou à un sel associé (nom générique: Pratosartan). Il est également possible de combiner du Pratosartan à un ou plusieurs agents diurétiques sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par des agents diurétiques à base de sulfonamide, des agents diurétiques d'acide phénoxyacétique et des agents diurétiques thiazidiques. Il est également possible de combiner du Pratosartan à un ou plusieurs agents abaissant le taux des lipides, sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par des statines, des fibrates, des agents d'absorption du cholestérol, des inhibiteurs d'absorption du cholestérol et des promoteurs du catabolisme/de l'excrétion du cholestérol.
