ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An elongated link chain assembly is provided including opposite end hooks opening toward each other and an intermediate length hook adjacent one of the opposite end hooks but opening toward the other end hook. The hooks include hook ends adapted to radially or axially engage the circumferential diametrically enlarged beads at the opposite ends of a metal drum or barrel. The link chain assembly may be engaged intermediate its opposite ends by a link chain hook supported from a lifting chain.
