A drum kit stand includes a body having drum mountings adapted to receive drums. A seat is positioned on the body. A resilient support structure supports the body above floor level. The resilient support structure is adapted to expand and contract to change at least one of pitch, yaw and roll of the body in response to movements of a drummer seated on the seat. This enables a drummer and his drum kit to be in dynamic motion when performing at a live performance venue.
