2073978 9110597 PCTABS00006 A flexible drum liner assembly (10) having a fitting (14) which mates with a specially cut hole in the lid (20) of the drum. The fitting (14) of a preferred embodiment of the present invention has a mouth with internal (28) and external (30) threads. A standard externally threaded bung hole cover (34) fits in the mouth and mates with its external threads (30). A vertical slot (38) is cut on either side of the mouth of the fitting (14) interrupting the external threads (30). A circular bung hole (42) with two opposed inwardly directed tabs (40) is cut into the lid (20) of the drum. The two tabs (40) act as keys and fit into the keyways defined by the vertical slots (38) on either side of the mouth of the fitting (14).
