A dry cleaning system and method comprises specially designed or modified machinery used in conjunction with a cyclic siloxane solvent. In a preferred embodiment, the method comprises the steps of loading articles into a cleaning basket; agitating the articles and the siloxane composition in which they are immersed; removing most of the siloxane composition; centrifuging the articles; subjecting the articles to a partial vacuum pressure and elevated temperature; and removing the articles from the basket after cooling the articles and returning the pressure to ambient.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de nettoyage à sec qui mettent en oeuvre un mécanisme conçu spécialement ou modifié, utilisé conjointement avec un solvant à base de siloxane cyclique. Dans une forme de réalisation préférée, le procédé consiste à charger des articles dans une cuve de lavage, à agiter les articles et la composition à base de siloxane dans laquelle les articles sont immergés, à éliminer la majeure partie de la composition à base de siloxane, à centrifuger les articles, à placer les articles sous pression à vide partielle à une température élevée, puis à retirer les articles de la cuve après refroidissement et remise de la pression aux conditions d'environnement.
