ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dry-wet process for forming interiorly asymmetric hollow fiber cellulose acetate membranes, which are useful is hemodialysis, artificial kidneys and the like, by extrusion of a spinning solution of the polymer and introducing a non-solvent for the polymer in the hollow passage of the hollow fiber being extruded to form the interior of the fiber by a wet phase inversion process, is disclosed.
