ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dry-set mortar composition is disclosed for setting tiles and in particular ceramic tiles. The mortar has a good sag resistance and high bond strength without the use of asbestos fibers. The mortar composition is adapted to be mixed with water having in the dry state a composition of sand, Portland cement and cellulose ether, the improvement comprising 0.0070 to 0.0150 parts by weight anionic polyacrylamide and 0.0 to 0.9 parts by weight Bentonite Clay.
