A dry-type power distribution transformer (10) has a generally rectangular, wound ferromagnetic metal core (20) and a resin encapsulated, generally rectangular coil (40). The core has a generally rectangular core window (22) within which is located a substantially straight section of the coil. When assembled to form a power distribution transformer, the shape of the coil's substantially straight section conforms to the shape of the core window. The transformer is inexpensive to manufacture, exhibits low resistivity and low core loss, and is lightweight, compact and reliable in operation.
L'invention concerne un transformateur (10) sec de distribution d'énergie présentant généralement un noyau métallique ferromagnétique (20) enroulé et une bobine (40) généralement rectangulaire encapsulée dans une résine. Le noyau présente une fenêtre (22) de noyau généralement rectangulaire dans laquelle est placée une section droite de la bobine. Lorsqu'elle est assemblée pour former un transformateur de distribution d'énergie, la forme de la section sensiblement droite de la bobine épouse la forme de la fenêtre de noyau. Le transformateur est de fabrication bon marché, est doué d'une faible résistivité et d'une faible perte dans le fer, il est léger, compact et présente un fonctionnement fiable.
