A dryer drum coater (110) reduces blue smoke emissions by evacuating the blue smoke from the dryer drum coater independently of the exhaust of combustion products. The blue smoke, produced when heated and dried aggregate is mixed with other asphaltic products such as RAP or liquid asphalt, is preferably evacuated from a vapor outlet (216) formed remote from the exhaust products outlet of the coater and adjacent the heated and dried aggregate inlet of the mixing chamber. Evacuating the blue smoke at this location obviates the need to separate the blue smoke from the combustion products and also prevents the introduction of excess oxygen into the combustion zone of the dryer drum coater. In a particularly preferred arrangement, the evacuated blue smoke is fed directly to the combustion air inlet of the coater's burner (122) blower and is thereby incinerated.
Tambour-sécheur-enrobeur (110) permettant de réduire les émissions de fumée bleue de manière indépendante de l'échappement des produits de combustion. La fumée produite, lorsque l'agrégat chauffé et séché est mélangé à d'autres produits asphaltiques comme les produits asphaltiques recyclés ou l'asphalte liquide, est de préférence expulsée par un orifice d'évacuation de la vapeur (216) éloigné de l'orifice d'évacuation des produits de combustion de l'enrobeur et près de l'entrée des agrégats chauffés et séchés de la chambre de mélange. Evacuer la fumée bleue à cet endroit permet d'éviter d'avoir à la séparer des produits de combustion et empêche également l'entrée d'un excès d'oxygène dans la zone de combustion du tambour-sécheur-enrobeur. Dans une utilisation privilégiée, la fumée bleue évacuée est directement envoyée à l'entrée d'air de combustion du ventilateur du brûleur de l'enrobeur et est, de ce fait, incinérée.
