Abstract A dryer (4) for a refrigeration plant comprises a housing (3) containing a drying agent (6). The refrigeration plant comprises an encapsulated refrigerant compressor of which the capsule (12) carries an auxiliary nipple (1) which is for processing purposes and is provided with a stop member (8). The drying housing (5) is connected to the auxiliary nipple (1) and is disposed between the capsule wall and the stop member (8). Rubbed off particles of the drying agent are not carried along into the refrigerant circuit by the refrigerant during operation and can therefore cause no damage at the bearings of the refrigerant compressor that might affect its life.
