A 616-1 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for drying webs which includes a housing having two compartments with one compartment open on one side and having heating elements therein. The other of said compartments is closed and has air inlet and outlet openings for circulation of air normally therethrough. An air control valve is disposed between the compartments and functions to direct all of the air into the open compartment should the web speed decrease or the movement of the web terminate completely.
