Peak capture circuitry for measuring a peak value of a waveform characterized by a first portion having a first rate of change and a second portion having a relatively faster rate of change. Peak stretching circuitry stretches a portion of the waveform as a function of time. Digital signal processing circuitry samples an output waveform of the peak stretching circuitry for determining the peak value. Thus, despite any steeply sloped portion, samples can be reliably taken throughout the waveform for calculation of peak value.

L'invention a trait à un circuit de captage de crêtes, destiné à mesurer une valeur de crête d'une forme d'onde caractérisée par une première partie présentant un premier taux de variation et une seconde partie présentant un taux de variation relativement plus élevé. Le circuit d'étirement de crête étire une partie de la forme d'onde en fonction du temps. Le circuit de traitement numérique du signal échantillonne une forme d'onde de sortie du circuit d'étirement de crête afin de déterminer la valeur de crête. Ainsi, malgré toute partie fortement inclinée, des échantillons peuvent être prélevés de manière fiable à travers la forme d'onde, pour le calcul de la valeur de crête.
