A device is disclosed for activating and deactivating magnetic electronic article surveillance (EAS) markers. In one embodiment, the device includes control circuitry comprising a coil, such as a solenoid-type coil, that provides a magnetic field in one direction and another coil that provides a magnetic field in a substantially perpendicular direction, so that EAS markers that pass through the device are positioned generally in the plane defined by the first and second directions.

L'invention concerne un dispositif qui peut activer ou désactiver des marqueurs d'un système électronique magnétique de surveillance d'articles (EAS). Dans une forme de réalisation, le dispositif comprend un circuit de commande comprenant une bobine, par exemple une bobine de solénoïde, qui produit un champ magnétique dans une direction, et une autre bobine qui produit un champ magnétique dans une direction sensiblement perpendiculaire, si bien que les marqueurs EAS passant à travers le dispositif sont placés généralement dans le plan délimité par la première et la seconde directions.
