A card edge type electrical connector including dual-beam ground contacts each having splayed pre-loaded tips and a realignment twist enabling a plurality of such contacts to be gang inserted into the insulator housing of the connector. To adjust the pitch of the pre-loaded tips, a predetermined twist is added to the bottom of the contacts during the stamping operation which re-aligns the tips with the correct contact receiving apertures. The re-alignment twist disappears once the contact(s) are fully seated in the insulator housing, thus allowing the pre-loaded tips to reach their ultimate position within the insulator housing relative other adjacent contacts.
La présente invention a pour objet un connecteur de carte comportant des contacts de terre à double faisceau, chacune comportant des pointes biseautées et une torsade de réalignement permettant l'insertion groupée d'une pluralité de tels contacts à l'intérieur du boîtier isolant du connecteur. Pour ajuster l'angle d'attaque des pointes précontraintes, une torsade est imposée à la partie inférieure des contacts durant l'opération d'emboutissage, laquelle favorise l'alignement approprié des pointes à l'intérieur des orifices de réception des contacts. La torsade d'alignement disparaît une fois que les contacts sont convenablement insérés à l'intérieur du boîtier du connecteur, ce qui permet aux pointes précontraintes d'adopter leur position ultime à l'intérieur du boîtier isolant du connecteur par rapport aux autres contacts adjacents.
