A salad container (10) having a container body (12), an open top, an exterior surface (14) and an interior surface (16) defining a cavity (18), the cavity divided into upper chamber (20) and a lower chamber (22) by a selective barrier (24) secured to the interior surface of the body to selectively exclude relatively large ingredients such as salad roughage from entry into the lower chamber and to provide passage therethrough of relatively small food incredients, such as granular ingredients including, for example gound pepper and/or such a liquids, including for example salad dressing, into and out of the lower chamber.
