ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A uniflow dual fuel engine including a plura- lity of cylinders, a piston in each cylinder, inlet ports arranged around each cylinder to be uncovered by downward movement of the piston in the cylinder. Air is forced into the cylinder through the inlet ports and there is a fuel injector to pump diesel fuel into the cylinder. There is an inlet pipe extending into one end of the port of each cylinder to end immediately adjacent the interior of the cylinder and connected at its distal end to a gas source.
