ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bubble gum made with SBR (styrene butadiene) gum base has both its initial bite and bubble quality improved by coblending PIB (polyisobutylene) gum base with the SBR base at a weight ratio of SBR:PIB of between 2:1 and 6:1, and preferably 3:1 to 4:1. The bubble gum may be naturally sweetened or sugarless and preferably contains hydrogenated starch hydrolysate (HSH).
