ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement to CCD image sensors and CCD shift registers. The improvement comprises the addition of a new output device to the CCD chip for CCD image sensors and/or CCD shift registers. The output provides a video signal at high clock rate. It provides either the signal difference of consecutive pixels or a normal video output. A single CCD gate region is used to perform the signalled differencing.
