A dual mode stabilizer (10) for use with a backhoe loader or a backhoe attachment. The stabilizer (10) includes a pair of base memers (20) fixed on opposite sides of the tractor (15). A stabilizer arm assembly (30) engages the base member (20). The stabilizer arm assembly (30) is piston (60) actuated and includes an outrigger arm member (65) a sliding arm member (70) pivotally connected to the outrigger arm member (65), a first locking mechanism and a second locking mechanism. Actuation of the piston (60) with the first locking mechanism engaged, causes the stabilizer arm assembly (30) to travel downwardly within the base member providing operation in the vertical mode. Actuaction of the piston (60) with the first locking mechanism released and the second locking mechanism engaged, causes the outrigger arm member (65) to rotate about a first pivot point (75) resulting in operation in the fold down mode.

Ce stabilisateur (10) comprend une paire d'éléments de base (20) fixés des côtés opposés du tracteur (15). Un ensemble bras (30) du stabilisateur s'accouple à l'élément de base (20). Cet ensemble (30) est mis en service sous l'effet d'un piston (60) et comporte un bras de calage (65), un bras coulissant (70) accouplé rotatif au bras de calage (65), un premier mécanisme de verrouillage et un deuxième mécanisme de verrouillage. La mise en service du piston (60), le premier mécanisme de verrouillage étant en prise, provoque le déplacement vers le bas de l'ensemble bras (30) à l'intérieur de l'élément de base, ce qui crée un mode de fonctionnement vertical. La mise en service du piston (60), le premier mécanisme de verrouillage étant dégagé et le deuxième mécanisme de verrouillage étant en prise, provoque la rotation du bras de calage (65) autour d'un premier point de pivotement (75), ce qui crée un mode de repliement vers le bas.
