ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Impurities, which may include soaps, gums, phospho- lipids and pigments, can be removed from chemically or physically refined glyceride oils in a dual phase adsorption and treatment process. In the first phase, the oil is contacted with amorphous silica to remove phospholipids and soaps or gums or both. In the second phase, the oil is passed through a packed bed of a pigment removal agent for decolorizing glyceride oils.
