A block texturing and complex clip mask processor (42) for use in a graphics rendering cogenerator (10). The processor (42) provides two directly accessed texture patterns (T1, T2), and combinational logic (64, 72) for combining texture patterns and graphic primitive signals. The combined texture pattern signals and primitive signals provide for both textured graphic primitives and complex shaped clip mask areas. Also included are inputs (86, 88, 90, 92) for defining rectangular clip masks and logic means (64, 104) for combining the rectangularly clip masks with the texture, graphic primitive and complex clip mask signals.
